Our Team
Sabrina Taylor
Chief Executive Officer
I lead Community Voices Matter by building relationships with partners, championing independent patient voice and making sure what we hear leads to meaningful improvements in health and care. I believe everyone deserves to be heard, especially people whose voices are too often overlooked. I love spending time in communities, speaking at events and creating opportunities for people to share their experiences. I’m proud to work alongside such a dedicated team, volunteers and trustees, all working towards the same goal of improving health and care.
Kerry Pickaver
Business Support Manager
I keep Community Voices Matter running smoothly behind the scenes by supporting our finance, HR, governance and day to day operations. I also provide information and signposting, helping people find the support they need. I love that every day is different, and I know that by supporting our team, volunteers and trustees, I’m helping more people have their voices heard. Working for an independent organisation that people trust is incredibly important to me. I’m proud to be part of a team that listens with compassion, acts with integrity and works every day to help improve health and care through the power of people’s experiences.
Deborah Ferguson
Project Officer (Enter and View)
I visit health and care services, speak with patients, families and staff, and gather independent evidence about people’s experiences to help improve care. I was inspired by Community Voices Matter long before I joined the team, and I’m proud to help create safe, independent spaces where people can speak openly, knowing their experiences can influence real change. My own lived experience has shown me how powerful listening can be when it is used to improve services rather than defend them.
Fiona Dawson
Head of Operations
I make sure our team has the technology, systems and support they need to do their jobs effectively. I enjoy improving the way we work so we can have the greatest impact with the resources we have. I’ve always been passionate about fairness in healthcare, and I believe everyone deserves to be heard. The best improvements happen when services are shaped by the people who use them, and I’m proud to support the work that makes that possible.
Richard Mayer
Projects and Programmes Support Officer
I support projects that gather people’s experiences of health and care, helping make sure their feedback reaches the people who can improve services. I enjoy talking with people, helping them navigate what can sometimes be a complicated health and care system, and making sure their experiences are heard. Being part of an independent organisation that helps hold services to account and encourages positive change is what makes this role so rewarding.
Nellie O'Rourke Stopka
Community Engagement and Projects Officer
My role is all about meeting people, raising awareness of Community Voices Matter and listening to local experiences of health and social care. I spend much of my time in communities, helping people understand that their voices matter and encouraging them to share their experiences. I’ve always wanted to make a positive difference, and this role gives me the opportunity to do that every day.
Asra Ahmad
Senior Data and Impact Lead
I turn people’s experiences into evidence by analysing data, managing projects, writing reports and presenting our findings to organisations that can improve services. Although much of my work is desk-based, I value every opportunity to spend time in communities and hear directly from people. Turning people’s experiences into insight that leads to positive change is what makes my work so meaningful.
Kinsi Clarke
Head of Community Engagement and Projects
I lead our community engagement work, helping make sure people from all backgrounds have opportunities to share their experiences and influence improvements in health and social care. I joined this organisation because I had already seen first-hand the difference an independent voice can make. Supporting people who faced barriers to accessing care showed me how important it is to stand alongside those who are not always heard. That’s exactly what Community Voices Matter exists to do, and I’m proud to be part of it.
Shailah
Communications Officer
I help people understand who Community Voices Matter is, what we do and how they can get involved. I manage our website, social media, printed materials and campaigns, making sure our communications are clear, accessible and engaging. I love being creative, but what motivates me most is helping people feel heard. Working here means I can use communications to reach more people, encourage them to share their experiences and help improve health and social care for everyone.
Natalie Wright
Volunteer Coordinator
I recruit, train and support our volunteers, helping them build the confidence and skills to listen to communities and make sure local voices are heard. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing volunteers grow in confidence and realise the difference they can make. I believe every person’s voice matters, and I’m proud to support such an inspiring group of people as they help create real improvements in health and care.
